This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to attend the inaugural CLIC Conference in Raleigh, NC. I found out about this conference from my dear friend, Sara Davis of Sara Davis Photography. Praise the Lord I met this girl because she is how I have found out about both of the photography workshops that I have attended so far and both have been totally life changing and amazing. If you missed CLIC, don’t worry, you can attend in a few months in Alexandria! Trust me, you don’t want to miss it! Invest in yourself. CLIC is hands down the best decision I have made for my business this year. The first day of CLIC featured an amazing lineup of speakers including: Business Coach, Megan Huber; Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger, Molly Stillman of Still Being Molly; Amanda Hedgepeth of Amanda Hedgepeth Photography, and Katelyn James of Katelyn James Photography. (I’m not sure if any of the punctuation in that prior sentence is remotely correct, please don’t judge me.) Oh my stars, I can’t even begin to tell you the wisdom I gained from each of these wonderful speakers and business women. I was totally in awe of each one as they shared their stories, their life and key insight into the way they run their businesses. More than once I was nearly brought to tears and moments later laughing hysterically. And of course in between, fiercely taking down notes. Not only were the speakers incredibly inspiring, but the connections (aka all my new BFFS) I made with other women in the photography industry were truly invaluable. Such amazing ladies from all over the country and a few that I truly believe will be lifelong friends! At 2 p.m. on Saturday, the second part of CLIC started which was a styled shoot by the amazing Kaitlin Briley of Simply Put Vintage! Ya’ll I just can’t even. Pure talent! The arboretum was transformed into a French Country slice of perfection pie complete with pink macaroons, gorgeous lace and some amazing models. It was so awesome to be able to have the chance to interact with real models and ask questions about posing and framing. Amanda Hedgepeth and Kelly Martin are just amazing people to learn from! I keep telling Grady it was like being in photography paradise for the weekend. A gorgeous hotel, women equally passionate and energized by photography and their businesses, an opportunity to ask questions and hear from amazing leaders in this industry and new friends! This community is truly amazing and so, so important. A huge thank you to Kelly Martin Photography for all that she put into making this a reality. You are truly making a difference in the lives of photographers. You rock! Here are a few of my favorite images from the styled shoot! I’m kind of obsessed! Check out all those photogs in action! Aren’t they amazing?!
