Travel Photography

I have been wanting so badly to blog some of our Italy photos from our trip in November, but alas it is the crazy time of year when I can barely keep up with what day it is, my hair is always in a haggard bun and I am often wearing articles of clothing inside out or backwards or possibly for the third day in a row. You know, it’s just December and it’s kicking my butt. It’s not in the good way the gym kicks your butt either. It’s in the way that you are crying and just wishing it would be Spring already and wondering how you got so pale and deadlines are like a swarm of bees coming at you and you are eating all of the candy in the office and why do people have it out for you and send 15 lb. bags of M&M’s for you to consume in what seems like one sitting. But, I digress. Anyway, I was determined to get a blog post done this week and so I figured what better subject to blog about than the most beautiful place on earth, Italy. Wow, what can I say…if you ever have the opportunity to go, GO. Art, music and architecture collide to make visual poetry. I have never felt more inspired than I did strolling the streets of Florence, Assisi and Rome. Everything takes your breath away and I often found myself wondering how it was possible that man could make such beautiful things. I cried on the way home. Sad to leave is an understatement. I only hope one day life will lead me back to this enchanting place. Here are a few photos from our time in Rome, Assisi and Lucca. • Assissi was one of the most beautiful towns I have ever seen. From driving up to it from the distance, to walking up the steps of the sidewalks to the church. I cried the whole time I was in the chapel. I will definitely go back there someday….. Glad you got to see and enjoy it, too. The pictures are beautiful.

  • I love the picture of the plants hanging in the courtyard! It was so typical of the area. I would love a print of that to frame and put in my house. It will remind me of our trip to Italy, too. Let me know the prices. Maybe and 8X10? I have a little painting that I bought there that is about 3X4 inches and I just love it.
